Yoga 520 14IKB does not power on after memory upgrade!

Hi

I just upgraded the memory of my Yoga 520 (after checking the right specs) and now the Laptop won't power up at all!

I tried changing it back to the old memory but still it won't power up.

 

Somewhere in the forum I read something about removing the battery for 5 mins.What battery ? CMOS? And how do you do that if it works?

Please help with any suggestion to get it back running.

Welcome to the Community.

 

We might need a few more details. Exactly what happens when you press the power button? Lights, fans, splash screen.. need to know what does happen when you press the power button. 

 

If it tries to POST, press and hold the power button for a full minute after it shuts off. That might clear the CMOS.

Hi Doc,

Thanks for that. When I press the power button, nothing happens. As I said, I tried changing back to the old memory - no use.

No lights,no BSOD,nothing .....basically its just dead!

Thanks for the information. I'm assuming pressing the NOVO button doens't do anything, either?

 

You can try holding down the power button for a full minute, then trying to start it. 

If that doesn't work and it's under warranty, it might be time to send it in.
