Yoga 530-14ARR shuts down at login page

Hi all.

I have a Yoga 530-14ARR with AMD Ryzen 5.

 

Two weeks ago I putted it on sleep mode closing the lid. I opened it yesterday and I knew it could have been drained, so I put it in charge and turned it on.

Only a few seconds after the Windows 10 (not 11, it was a typo, sorry) login page appears it suddenly shuts down. Every time. And it's fully charged.

The light around the power button turns from white to yellow: pay attention, not orange that is the color for battery issues, it seems that both white and orange LEDs turn on.

 

I tried to boot in safe mode, I could login and the Yoga didn't shut down. I checked out the system events but anything useful there.

 

UPDATES: I opened it, unplugged the battery, did a power reset, even tried to reinstall Windows 10 not using the battery at all, nothing. Now I can't even reinstall because the automatic reboot process is broken by the issue and Windows installation pops an error.

 

Someone with suggestions?

Why are you using Windows 11? It has not been released to the public yet. If you are using a Dev copy, there are avenues for reporting issues to Microsoft.  Check your documentation from Microsoft on how to report issues.

Hello @ oskarnrk!

 

Thanks for posting here at the Community Forums!

 

Try pressing the Novo button that's located in the right-side view of your Yoga 530 laptop.

Make sure that it is OFF first before pressing.

 

If it works, you'll be able to open the Novo button menu and from there, see first if it will boot properly by selecting "Normal Startup".

 

If it doesn't, press the Novo button again while the Yoga 530 laptop is OFF to open the Novo button menu again and select BIOS Setup instead.

 

From there, load the BIOS Settings into defaults by pressing F9 or FN + F9 then highlight/select YES followed by F10 or FN + F10 then highlight/select YES again to save the changes & exit.

 

Once done, see if it will boot properly again and will allow you to access the Yoga 530 laptop properly again.

Thank you for the instructions but it's not working, already tried that.

 

I also tried to reinstall Windows: it's working when the installation is getting ready (black screen with Lenovo logo) but just after the reboot, when the real Windows installation starts, the power button turns orange and the PC shuts down, even if the battery is fully charged and the AC power is connected!

 

It's absurd, safe mode and system reset work, normal Windows boot or installation kill the PC. I'm wondering about installing Ubuntu and check if the problem is Windows.

Try using the Lenovo Digital Download Recovery Service instead or DDRS to create a USB Recovery key.

When I try to place the order with my Serial Number it says that there is no Recovery Media for my machine.
