Yoga 530-14IKB TOUCH SCREEN DOESNT WORK AFTER UPDATES

After applying the update 7QCN41WW from Lenovo Vantage advice, the touch screen seem dead now. I've also updated all the drivers it suggested me. I can see the touch screen in the list of devices and followed all the guides possible on this forum like disabling/enabling the device, removing and rebooting. I even enabled the downgrade in BIOS and flashed the previos BIOS version 7QCN38WW (fortunately, all the installed versions are stored on C:\BIOS), but no luck! It works with the pen, but not with fingers.

 

One other thing to consider - I've also updated some of the software that Lenovo Vantage suggested me as well as the drivers. I used to trust Lenovo - not something I'll continue to do........

 

Anything else I can try? It is still on the warranty but I cannot stay without a laptop for a month of "diagnostics" and have the drive wiped out after the service.

If the screen does not work, maybe you can try to buy a new one to replace.

Really? Happy this is not the official reply :)

The screen is working, the touch-for-pencil is working, touch for fingers is not. I didn't do anything with a laptop like punching or anything like this, I'm very careful with it, so I DON'T think this is a hardware issue.

Hi!
I have a Yoga 520 and I too have been facing touchscreen issues. There's a lot of new threads for the touchscreen issues on the forums as well, so I guess something has gone wrong software wise.

 

For me the system acts as if there's no issue at all and Windows reports that everything is fine.

Yes, I also noticed a big amount of threads, but no solution yet. And yes, Windows reports no issues, Lenovo Vantage reports no issues, everything is "fine" from the Software standpoint, but not from the user's one. Still hoping to get some official reply.

Hey I got it to work by going to device manager and uninstalling the Wacom device (with the driver files), scanning for changes and then rebooting.

I don't have "Wacom device", actually. Most recent drivers have different naming - it's called "Lenovo Pen Device". I tried to uninstall it and scan - the device appeared back immediately and still not working. Reboot didn't help.
I tried to rollback the driver so that it starts to be called "Wacom device", uninstalling it and rebooting - no luck :(

But thanks for trying! Happy to know someone got this working :(

I've just updated Windows to the latest version possible - 1903. Installed ALL THE UPDATES as well. Everything from Lenovo Vantage is installed as well. BIOS was updated to 7QCN41WW. STILL NO RESULTS - WINDOWS SAYS I HAVE 10 POINTS TOUCHSCREEN, but it doesn't work. Tried again delete the device, update/rollback drivers, nothing works.

I was going through some old screenshots of mine and noticed that a day or two ago instead of the usual 7.3.4.51 driver Windows 10 installs, it installed 7.6.2.11. This driver works well for the most part. Sometimes when I leave the laptop sleeping for a while it stops working till I reboot but apart from that it has been fine. Also, check the event manager and see the latest available event. Through the event manager I realized the old driver had some issues starting the device in Windows 10 which led me to using the Windows provided driver rather than the lenovo provided one.

 

Keep in mind you will lose the wacom pen app if you let Windows 10 install the driver, but then you can access all pen settings within Windows now.

Thanks for the report.

 

It seems like I have the same driver installed from 22-Jan-2019, and I have already uninstalled the Pen Application related to this Wacom piece of sh.. - still not working. Did you manage to get it working well?
