Hi rejoel,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Here's some troubleshooting steps you can try to remedy the issue:

Step 1. PMU - Static Discharge:
- Remove all cables attached to the device (ac adapter, power, hdmi, external mouse/keyboard, etc)
- Ensure device is switched OFF
- Hold down power button for 60 seconds
- Re-attach all cables
- Connect the AC Adapter, then let the device charge for about 2 minutes (if it does) then start up as usual.

Step 2. Check your antivirus software
In your antivirus software settings, look for settings that block access to your camera or permission to use your webcam. For help, visit your antivirus software company’s website.

Step 3. Reset the Camera in App Settings.
- Right click the Start Menu bottom left and select "Settings"
- Click on "Apps & Features" , then in the search field above the list type "Camera"
- Click the Camera and select "Advanced Options"
- Scroll down until you see "Reset" and click the "Reset" button.

- Set up "Hello Windows Face Recognition" again if necessary.

- If the issue persists, continue below:

Step 4. Troubleshoot Windows Store Apps
- Right click the Start Menu bottom left and select "Settings"
- Click on "Update & Security" and select "Troubleshoot" from the list on the left.
- Select "Additional troubleshooters"
- Scroll down to the bottom and select "Windows Store Apps", click it and select "Run the troubleshooter"

Step 5. Disable Automatic Hardware drivers update
- Right click the Windows Icon, select the "Search" Function.
- Type "Control Panel" and select "Small icons" or "Large Icons" in the "View By" top right.
- Click the "System Icon"
- Navigate to "Advanced System Settings" -> "Hardware"
- Click "Device Installation Settings" and Select "No"
**This will prevent Windows from interfering with your hardware drivers in future updates, but keep crucial security updates rolling.

Step 6. Uninstall Camera Device + Drivers.
- Press the Windows key+X , select "Device Manager"
- Under "Cameras" and/or "Imaging devices" - Select the device in question, right click and select "Uninstall Device"
- If prompted to uninstall drivers associated with the device, tick the box and continue.
- Perform a restart of the computer to have Windows install the most generic drivers for this device.
- Download the newest drivers for you device from the Support Page:
- Just plot in the serial number for your device and hit enter, might have to hit it twice. Then head to Drivers & Software then Camera & Card Read

- Set up "Hello Windows Face Recognition" again if necessary.

Regards

Here are a few more steps you can try:

Step 1. Turn off Fast Startup.

- Navigate to the windows icon in the bottom left, click it and start typing "Control Panel"
- While in Control Panel, navigate to the "Power Options" Icon / link.
- In the left column, click "Choose what closing the lid does"
- Click "Change Settings that are currently unavailable"
- Unmark "Turn on fast startup" (This does not affect Restarting the computer), but when it starts up again from sleep and/or hibernation.

Step 2. Reset Facial Recognition and/or Fingerprint Options
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign In Options
- Locate Fingerprint or Facial Recognition options and click Remove under them.
- After that, click Get Started and follow the on-screen instructions to reset Fingerprint and Facial Recognition.
- Reboot your PC if needed.

Step 3. Update drivers
If some of the system drivers, most probably webcam and fingerprint reader drivers, were corrupted during the upgrade process, Windows Hello may fail to perform.

- Press the Windows Key + X (or right click start menu), then select Device Manager.
- Locate the Hello, Biometric device, webcam, and fingerprint drivers individually

- Right Click and Select "Properties", then go to the "Drivers Tab"
- Select Update driver, then Automatic.
- If no newer driver, try the "Roll back" or if not available, right click the device and select "Uninstall"

- Repeat the removal with all Windows Hello related drivers and then reboot your PC.

- Once back in, enter Device Manager again, click "Action" and select "Scan for hardware changes"
- The system should automatically detect and reinstall the drivers.
