Yoga 700-14ISK Device Encryption on Windows 10 Home

Device Encryption option is not available for Windows 10 Home. (The option is absent when searching under settings. BitLocker is offered for Windows 10 Pro upgrade, which costs considerably more).

According to internet (Microsoft, StackOverflow), Device encryption requires TPM 2.0 and InstantGo. Seems like Yoga 700 does not support InstantGo (checked settings with powercfg /a)

Device Encryption is important for a lot of people who have security concerns, but prefer not to upgrade to Pro for BitLocker. I would love for you to help solve this issue for me.

Thanks,

Re: Yoga 700-14ISK Device Encryption on Windows 10 Home

Hi! I appreciate your answer!

I know TrueCrypt, and it was discontinued about two years ago, there are some active forks but in any case I prefer to avoid 3rd party software.

Microsoft solution is more comfortable and seamless, and as a user with a new laptop with Windows 10 Home, I don't see any reason why it should not be supported.

Thanks,
