Yoga 710-11iSK fresh Windows 10 install - what do i need to know

Yoga 710-11iSK  seems as if I need to do fresh Windows 10 install  (windows recommends it in PC Health) - what do i need to know: like where are my Windows files, do i create a recovery disk on a USB, what format, etc??

this is more info: the yoga started to act, on a progressive basis, very sluggish. the new bios and windows updates did nothing to help, if anything slowed it down futher.

Hi pr9,

 

Welcome to the Community Forums.

 

Your Windows files are in the C: drive located physically in the M.2 PCIe NVMe drive SSD (page 36). The BIOS are on default to UEFI that goes with Windows 10 format nothing else to change. 

 

It is always good to create a recovery disk for future use like replacing the SSD.

 

Take note that on the Yoga 710-11ISK, one of the pre installed application is the OEM factory reset tool "One Key Recovery" that you can avail as long as it was not corrupted (happens usually when repartitioned).

 

It would be easier to use but take mind to back up all your important data first since it is a full factory reset. Directions here in the user manual (chapter 3 page 22). Just turn off the machine and press the Novo button on the right side (item 3 page 10) to power on and choose System Recovery.
