Re: Yoga 710-14IKB second SSD

Hi MichaelG4

Welcome to the Community Forums.

There is only one port available to accommodate storage on this model.

Storage specification: M.2 slot,  2.5-inch, NGFF, 128 GB / 256 GB, SATA II/SATA III (Lenovo
YOGA 710-14ISK/Lenovo YOGA 710-14IKB) (page 6 on the hardware manual)

On this model, an external USB SSD storage drive can be the most practical and useful tool for added files which is would also allow transferability to different work PC.

Hope this help answer your query.

Re: Yoga 710-14IKB second SSD

As other people say, there is no place for a second SSD unite in the Yoga 710, but you dont need at last.

I bougt a Samsung EVO+ SSD  SDXC of 256 GB with 95MB/s read speed an 90MB/s write speed and now I install all the programs there. Take care with the chinese clones of low quality.

Is really fas SD and runs near the speed of SSD, at least as you can see in Windows 10.

The ideal parthner for this is the SD-MicroSD adapter that fits perfectly in the SD bay of the Yoga 710. This is the product that I bought:

Bouth items works perfectly and doubles your laptop memory capacity for a few euros (145€).

Another advantage of this solution is that the microSD is detachable and you can have two (or more) with different set of data.

The speed of this card is enought to run a Virtual Machine of MAC OS Sierra perfectly in your Yoga 710 with the VMWare Workstation 12.5. Is amazing to have bouth worlds (MAC an WIndows in the same computer) at a fraction of a MackBook Air Pro.

If you choose the correct Micro SD the speed is very good. As maybe you know, not all SD have the same performance.
