Yoga 710 (15") - Battery Issue

Just got a new Yoga 710 (less than 1 week old) and after charging and starting the next day it should 100% charged but only 2:45 of life remaining.  At under 3 hours it seems like there is something wrong becuase I have researched the internet and people are getting 5 to 7 hours.  Do you think I might have a bad battery?  Its running Windows 10.

Re: Yoga 710 (15") - Battery Issue

Hi clfnole ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checked if everything is updated in your systems to match it with the BIOS version provided from the support site

Generate your battery report for reference .

Knowing that battery life is one of the appreciated features of this model similar to most reviews , if such is not what you expect. after the above steps then it would be better to call in technical support for further recommendations

Update us how things go.

Regards

Re: Yoga 710 (15") - Battery Issue

Hi Spidey,

Everything is up to date and by slightling tweaking the brightness now I am at over 5 hours of battery lifr at 91% as oppsed to the 2 hrs 45 minutes it showed this morning at 100%. Does the battery life adjust or improve after initial use?  Always had desktops before but perhaps there is a breakin period with a laptop?

Thanks.

Re: Yoga 710 (15") - Battery Issue

Hi clfnole ,

Usually battery life improves usually after manual calibration from out of the box.

Having it 10 % and full charge it but after but for a new laptop consider return period and repair period so it would help calling technical support for recommendation.

This would allow you to decide how to proceed with better options.

Regards

Re: Yoga 710 (15") - Battery Issue

Seems tweaks I have made have helped greatly notably just changing brightness to 80%.

Thanks
