Hi, I have this problem, which I also had on a 710-15ISK before I replaced mine with this model due to cracked screen. Intermittently, while "computering", the keyboard will stop working as expected.
Only a variety of keys will work, like some mode has been activated by an accidental key press.
Like I said, this happened on my previous 710 as well. It's frustrating because I'm learning programming, and the issue doesn't resolve until I sleep the laptop and unsleep it, which makes me believe it isn't some key combination I'm hitting, but rather maybe a jam of the keyboard.
The same keys stop working each time, and same for the keys that remain working. If I can if it happens again, I will write down each key working/not working, but until then, does anyone have some insight on this?

Hi there, Xase -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
You can also start by flushing out all static, remove battery & AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.
Update us how it goes.

This doesn't alleviate my issue... it seems like some button is getting spammed somehow or some other key lock. Some keys still write, This doesn't dead my keyboard at all... it makes it so all the keys are doing some sort of hotkey or other.

I'm having the same problem on a brand new unit. I'll be on a login screen trying to enter email and password and the keys will simply stop displaying letters on the page and instead start jumping through various menus or do nothing at all. All ease of access options for the keyboard are turned off. I had started another thread but then found this one while trying to find a thread about the shift key being too small.

Having a similar issue. seems to be related to some keys. The left shift key seems to be the biggest problem..

Well I think this is actually a software issue, but I can't comment further, until i get my keyboard replaced as i have since damaged it. I will document if it continues to happen afterwards.

Bought mine April 2018. It's now June 2018 and I'm sending it in under warranty because of the same issue. There were quite a few blogs/sites discussing this issue, along with a few suggested solutions. Some of which require keys on the keyboard THAT ARENT WORKING! Like in my experience, most said the issue became progressively worse. I can use my touch keyboard, no problem. It seems the most agreed upon solution, once it gets to this point, was taking the battery out. However, the minute you open the back you void any warranty, hence mine on it's way back to Lenovo.
Support had me first check to see if my numbers, space bar and enter worked. Only my enter out of those three options didnt work. So, support had me get the paperclip out and reset. And try to start in BIOS, but my enter wouldn't work. He stated it should have because we were working outside the system. This tells him it's not software, and because it's hardware (I made him aware that my googling let me know it is a common hardware issue 😜 ) and under warranty im sending it in. I'll update.
