Yoga 710 ISK14 display problem

2016-10-08, 1:11 AM

After a month of usage, the built in display of my Yoga 710 started to blink/turn off when the brightness is set to high, or when some specific colors are visible on the screen.

I've recorded it and uploaded to youtube (40 seconds video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McWb1W0sWkA

All graphic drivers up to date. Happens when using battery and also on power supply.

What should I do?

Hi cunhaw,

Welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to read about your problem. This is a user-to-user forum. Have you contacted Support to see if your warranty covers this? If I were you, that would be my first step.

I am going to guess that the cable(s) that connect the screen to the laptop base through the hinges are either loose, or damaged, especially since touching the screen etc. makes it go away.

Since it is only a month old, it should still be under warranty, so I would contact Lenovo Support and open a case to get it looked at right away, or if you can return it to where you bought it locally, even better.

Good Luck,

Thanks guys. It really seems like a hardware problem. But since this laptop is not sold in my country (Brazil) I have no way to get warranty service.

Same problem with mine; contacted support, on phone 45 min while technician played around on remote access. Did not solve problem, said to take it to service center wihich was Best Buy. They sent it off & said a BIOS update was done. Got it back & same problem. I'm 5 months into waranty, this needs to be FIXED by Lenovo.

I have the exact same issue. Bios and drivers are updated yet now and then I get these annoying flickering effects or the screen going dark while the mouse pointer gets stuck. Warranty is two years in Sweden but if I cannot find a way to reliably replicate the issue support will not be able to fix it. Has anyone seen any information on any driver/bios updates that may fix this?
