Yoga 710 Touchpad Settings (Area settings?)

I seem to be having issues finding more extensive settings for my new Yoga 710 - there are some settings under Mouse Properties > Device Settings > Synaptics Clickpad V1.6 on SMB Port > Settings but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of setting areas of the trackpad. There are two things that I want to achieve:

1. Enable scrolling by scrolling on the right hand side of the touchpad (single finger scroll)

2. Disable the touchpad where the left/right click buttons are. I often hover over these buttons and it disables/moves the mouse - I need them to function as buttons, not as a trackpad/button combo (also can make clicking and dragging awkward?).

Thanks heaps Smiley Happy

Re: Yoga 710 Touchpad Settings (Area settings?)

Hello Tetraodon.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Unfortunately, I believe your unit`s touchpad does not support these features, as it sports a touchscreen by default.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Re: Yoga 710 Touchpad Settings (Area settings?)

this is a common touchpad problem ,you can entered in the system registry to active it by type  regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Win10\

 2FingerTapAction  value change to  2。
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Win8\

2FingerTapAction  value change to 2

restart computer,it will works .

also you can google (Synaptics  2FingerTapAction ) to find out the right steps

Fantastic, thank you so much! I'll try that tomorrow. I had found some old posts but no real answers - I feel like I'm not the only one who would be disappointed if the presence of touchscreen would somehow reduce the quality of touchpad customization and efficiency!

Re: Yoga 710 Touchpad Settings (Area settings?)

Unfortunately the above only changes 2 finger tapping and doesn't affect the touchpad area.

I can find many threads about the issue (the touchpad buttons being active areas) and how infuriating it is, but no answers. I've attempted to install generic synaptic drivers with no luck and can't find anything in the registry to change.

This is so frustrating as I'm really struggling to work on a brand new computer as there's constant misclicks or interruptions as I often hover over the buttons.

Really upsetting to see posts from 2014 with the issue and no answers from Lenovo at all.

Hi All, I'm desperate for answers on how to disable the click area of the touchpad on Lenovo Yoga 710.

Anyone with any answers including Registry instructions/ hardware replacement for touchpad area or anything please, please put them up here.

Thanks
