Yoga 710 Trackpad

Help! My Yoga 710 14IKB's trackpad taps by itself. I've tried reinstalling the synaptics driver and it still happens. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Re: Yoga 710 Trackpad

Hi there, Lalaland                   -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You can start by flushing out all static, remove AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Also, did you check with external mouse if issue persist.

Update us how it goes.

Regards,

Re: Yoga 710 Trackpad

It is only the trackpad that causes this issue. When I use an external mouse with the trackpad disable the laptop functions normally.

Re: Yoga 710 Trackpad

I have seen this issue before and it was down to a generic MS driver over ruling the Lenovo driver. Can you confirm that Windows is fully updated?

Re: Yoga 710 Trackpad

How do I check that? Through Windows Update?

Re: Yoga 710 Trackpad

Does this happen only when you are typing on the keyboard, by chance?

Re: Yoga 710 Trackpad

You could try disabling the tap action. You would then have to press the trackpad button to get it working. At least you could test it to see if that does indeed solve the problem.

Re: Yoga 710 Trackpad

I have tried that. It re-enables every time I swith th computer on.

On a side note, the trackpad has been fine for the past 12hours. Will continue to monitor
