Yoga 710 trackpad problem

I recently (as in, yesterday) bought myself a Yoga 710-14IKB. Straight out of the box, I found that the trackpad didn't work as it should. The side of my thumb, i.e. the way I would naturally click, simply won't work with attempting to left-click except on the rare occassion. Attached is an image to give you the idea--I'm not certain I described it well enough.

I returned the first one, thinking it might be a hardware problem when updating and deleting the driver did nothing to help, but the replacement does the same thing. It seems like uninstalling Synaptics does show that it's not a hardware problem, but obviously leaves you with a sluggish cursor and no scrolling.

It runs on Windows 10 and uses Synaptics Pointing Device v. 19.0.17.116, I'm assuming it's an issue with either Windows 10 or the latest Synaptics driver, but rolling back did nothing. Is anyone else having this issue? Any remedies out there? I can adjust to clicking differently, but I'd prefer not to. I'm very set in my ways, you know.

Hi entwistling,

Can you confirm that Windows is fully updated? Also after updating windows, can you reinstall the Trackpad driver from the Lenovo website. I have seen this issue before and it was down to a generic MS driver over ruling the lenovo driver.

Let me know if this works.
