Hello Lenovo people!
I have a frustrating battery issue question that probably has been answered somewhere in this long thread.
But anyway, here goes.
The battery on my Yoga 720-13IKB is discharging when plugged in.
Ive tried every variation of battery software choice - best battery - best performance and in between, but doesnt seem to make any difference.
The battery status in Lenovo Vantage shows that its good.
I changed and purchased a new battery charger and still the issue persists.
The only time it charges is when I shut down the laptop overnight and plug it in.
Because its the Yoga 720-13IKB I cannot take the back off very easily as it held on by tiny scews that I dont have the tools to unscrew ( as in to reset the battery)
I'm thinking it must be a software issue - but I could be wrong?
Any more expert opinions than mine would be super!
Thanks in advance

Hello there, JontheDj!
Welcome to the Lenovo forum discussion!
Please open the Lenovo vantage app https://vantage.lenovo.com?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x9m6 and check for a system update, then install them all. After that, check the battery again. In addition, you can try updating the BIOS firmware on the laptop and test it again. Here's https://support.lenovo.com/ph/en/solutions/ht500008?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x9m6 how to update the BIOS firmware version.

Hey Thanks very much for all the advice
I tried all the instructions you advised//
--- - except to re-install the software on Windows 10 - as I will lose some software I share and don't have the keys for anymore.
the problem still remains though - only charging when the laptop is off and plugged in

Hi! Try to power cycle the machine by holding down the power button for 10-15 seconds. Boot to Windows then disable the fast startup under the power options. If the issue is the same, boot to BIOS and disable Always On USB and observe too. Update us how it goes.
