Yoga 720 - 15IKB: Can it be hooked up to a 2560x1440 @ 144Hz External Monitor?

As in my subject, can the Yoga 720 (15-inch) be hooked up to a 2560x1440 @ 144Hz External Monitor?

I understand that I have to get a usb-c to DisplayPort adaptor to get it to work. However, I am not sure of the DisplayPort specifications in this Thunderport 3 port of Yoga 720 as for a laptop to run 144Hz on an external monitor, it has to be at least DisplayPort 1.2.

I'm not an expert with monitors, but I'd check the monitor's specs to see what kind of inputs it'll work with. I would imagine the monitor will upscale or adapt to the input signal. It'd be silly to make a monitor that wouldn't work with anything the installed base of computers can throw at it.
