Yoga 720-15IKB - Tiny fonts and boxes in some Applications

2018-07-17, 23:58 PM

Hello, I'm not entirely sure if this question or problem has been posted before, but for some reason with specific applications, the fonts or screen appear far away? I've been trying to mess around with resolutions, but nothing seems to help it. The apps I've found that this occurs with (at least for me) is Paint Tool Sai, Origin Games, and some of my games such as Sims 3 (I've tried full screen, but that seems to make it worse.)

Thank you in advance!

Hi  -Sylvan and welcome to the community,

Have you tried adjusting the scaling yet?

Dave

I've tried manually changing the resolution within the game and program if that is what you mean by scaling?

Thank you in advance

I think they mean text scaling in  Windows Settings/Display section. I have mine at 150%

You can try the following:

Go to the settings app > system > display

Under the "Scale and layout" section, go to "Advanced scaling settings"

Turn on "Let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry". It may not work with all apps, but still worth a try.

For your Sims game, you should probably make it full-screen if there is such option. With other video games, if you don't make it full-screen but it's set to a lower resolution than your display, the controls will all look very small.
