Yoga 720 keeps trying to load a 2nd copy of the Lenovo Keyboard Device

Hello All,

I have a Yoga 720-13IKB (Type 81C3) Laptop. The Lenovo Keyboard Device keeps trying to load a 2nd copy of itself. I get notifications telling me I need to restart my computer in order to load the Lenovo Keyboard Device.

 

After a few separate uses of the computer the touchpad will not work. Ater connecting an external mouse, I go into the Device Manager and the following items are listed...

 

Keyboards

 

- HID Keyboard Device

- Lenovo Keyboard Device (with a yellow triangle with the black exclamation point inside)

- Lenovo Keyboard Device

 

I right click on the LKD with the yellow triangle and select "Uninstall." I check the box to delete the drivers associated with the device.

 

Device Manager looks like this now....

 

Keyboards

 

- HID Keyboard Device

- Lenovo Keyboard Device

 

...and the touchpad works perfectly again. 

 

Any idea on how I can it to stop doing this???

Hi ,

 

Welcome to the Community Forums.

 

Please make sure that the keyboard driver is up to date. Right click on Lenovo Keyboard device in device manager then update the driver.

 

Once done, go to our Support Website to download the latest BIOS.

Thank you!! I thought I had tried updating the driver but I'm guessing I did not. That did the trick! Thanks for your help!!
