Just got my Yoga 720, a wonderful upgrade to my old Yoga 14.
When I first got it I could use my previous 65W and 90W power supplies to charge it. I know it's lower wattage but I leave it plugged in most of the time and am just moving it between rooms where I leave a charger so slow charging the battery isn't an issue.
Problem is after it finished all of the system software updates it no longer recognizes any Lenovo adaptors other than the 135W which was shipped with it. I don't even get an error saying "this power supply has insufficient power for this computer" as I've seen on other computers. Nothing, it just doesn't see the other Lenovo adaptors anymore except for the one that shipped with it.
I checked BIOS settings, Windows 10 Power options, Advanced settings, Lenovo Specific settings in the OS. i can't find anything to explain why it stopped recognizing the other adaptors. I also can't find any information online where people described similar issues or Lenovo stating limitations on power adaptors for the computer.
Has anyone seen this behavior?

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
It`s usually best to stick with the same power model charger that the unit was shipped with in order to make sure this wont cause issues later on.
Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

I just got a 720 15". Definitely will not charge at all with my Yoga 2 Pro charger, as I found out by accidentally plugging in the old charger with it for hours, with no increase in battery %. BatteryBar Pro reports nothing.
I have another question: would it damage my Yoga 2 Pro to use the more powerful 720 charger with it?

No, the laptop will only draw as much power as it can use. Plugging a higher wattage (larger) adapter is fine. I did find with the 720 that it will charge with the 90w adapter if the laptop is in sleep mode. Otherwise it will intentionally not recognize it.

Thanks. Good to know. So I can use either charger for either laptop. And could take the smaller lighter charger when traveling if using and planning carefully.
What is battery life others are experiencing? I have the 4K screen, and BatteryBar is saying 5:30 for full runtime. This is less than Lenovo claims, even for the 4K version, but manufacturers always exaggerate or talk best-case scenarios. I'm actually quite happy with 5:30, as my Yoga 2 Pro averaged 4:30, and the 720 has over twice as fast a processor and twice as much memory, plus pushing even more pixels than the Yoga 2 Pro has.
