I received my yoga 730 15" just yesterday, and after installing a few games like fortnite and overwatch and testing them. They both run horribly even at the lowest graphics, in fortnite i get 20fps with huge stutters, and overwatch somewhat better, still almost unplayable though. Today, i found out that after launching the game and in about a minute or two the CPU clock speed goes down from 3.3 GHz to around 0.8GHz. When the laptop is idle, its speed is +3GHz but when gaming less than 1GHz, shouldn't it be the other way around? I've looked around the internet for a solution all day, but I cannot find anything that helps. Should I just return this and get a replacement or something if no solution is found? Anyways, feel free to suggest any solutions that may help.

Yes kinda, what I did was change the turbo boost power max from 28W to like 32W on the intel extreme tuning utility. When I don't do this it indicates that the laptop is power limit throttling. Although, everytime I turn on the laptop I have to change the number so i can reapply this setting, I guess it doesn't save it? idk.. But this was the only way to get it to stop doing that.

I've been having the exact same problem. Everything is fine until the discrete GPU engages. A few minutes after that, CPU throttling starts an it's 800mhz-1000mhz on core 0 of the CPU. Computer temperatures seem fine/cool and there doesn't seem to be a good solution. I'm hoping it's a bug with Lenovo's power management, or something easily fixable. I'd hate to have to return to my Yoga, it's nice in every other way.

You can try the solution I found above with the intel extreme tuning utility. That is the only fix I have found, it seems to be working so I don't think I am going to be returning as its going to be a lot of hassle.

I am also having this problem and have tried the suggested solution but it does not seem to work for me either. Anybody find anything else that works for them?
