Yoga 9-15IMH5 Display VESA Certification.. False Advertisement?

2021-09-25, 10:25 AM

I purchased the Lenovo Yoga 9i 15" UHD/4K after verifying the display was a HDR400, 500 NITS VESA certified. Yesterday I went through the graphics specs, only to find out that it's not! Straight to Vesa Certified DisplayHDR™ for confirmation and it turns out this model was not listed!! I feel I've been conned by Lenovo! This is a legitimate base for a false advertisement legal case! I thought I'd try to find out if anyone had any similar experience first though. You're all welcome hare your thoughts on this.

Hello @ Lynn.E !

Thanks for posting here at the Community Forums!

Please share here your Yoga 9 laptop's MTM (machine type-model) number for us to check its specifications as this would help us detail more about your machine variant while keeping the confidentiality of your serial number.

It can be seen through the device's label/sticker or its original packaging and does usually have a format of 8********R as an example.

Here's a link as well that also contains additional methods in obtaining your device's details.

Thanks,

Adriel_Lenovo

Thanks for providing your device's details @ Lynn.E !

It would be advisable to have the list be checked with VESA support to see if it's already updated since upon checking on the Yoga 9 laptop's complete product specifications, it says in there that the display does have and supports 15.6" UHD (3840x2160) IPS 500nits Glossy, HDR 400, Dolby Vision, Touch.

You may check the Yoga 9 laptop's product specifications (complete) through this link.

I checked out the specs before purchasing the laptop and it clearly states it is VESA certified! Here's the specs sheet on your US website Yoga_9_15IMH5_Spec.PDF (lenovo.com) As for following up with VESA support; this is Lenovo's job, not the end user/buyer's!! The device has been out there for over a year, however! I doubt it's an update issue!
