I bought a Yoga 900 in April last year
Some time in November, it started making a truly horrific whilsting sound. It's not particularly loud, but very high pitched so cuts through anything else. Makes dogs fight etc
I've spoken with tech support and ran through HW tests and nothing
Before I send it off for repair, does anyone have any experience and/or advice?
I read about a fix for the 910 but it doesn't apply to my machine
The fan is almost constantly running and sounds like a jet engine also, if that's relevant
System SKU: LENOVO_MT_80SD_BU_idea_FM_Lenovo YOGA 900-13ISK for BIZ
BIOS Version/Date: LENOVO 0TCN14WW, 05/09/2016
For full disclosure the noise started at a similar time to an AV install. I've since removed that, and in fact performed a clean Windows 10 install

As you have gone through technical support that advised you for an investigation and possible hardware repair, I would also agree on sending it out specially if you have also performed similar steps as mentioned on the discussion here and here.
Hope this helps answer your query.
