My touchpad has stopped working. I have uninstalled the old Synaptics driver and reinstalled it from the Lenovo website, but in Device Manager "Mouse and other pointing devices" doesn't even show up, and in Settingsw -> Mouse -> Additional Options, there is no tab for Synaptics, or for any other touchpad. It doesn't show up in Hardware either. Any suggestions?

Did you make any recent changes on your software or hardware changes prior to the issue? If the driver refuses to get it to work, it`s possible that we may be facing a hardware issue. I would recommend that you perform a factory reset, if the issue persists after this, then it would confirm or it's a hardware failure.
Note: Please back up all your data as running this reset will delete any data on your machine.
