Yoga 900-13ISK2 does not recognize hard drive

2018-08-03, 11:29 AM

In BIOS under Information my hard drive is recognized but when I switch to the Boot tab nothing is displayed.

So when I try to boot the laptop I get the error message saying "Default Boot device missing or boot failed, insert recovery media and hit any key"

What can I do to fix this so I can boot my laptop?

Hi pataugusto,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I would suggest that you try the harddrive perhaps on a different computer. Here you can have the opportunity to back up your files and likewise test the integrity of the drive.

You can run harddrive test to it before you decide to reinstall Windows back knowing that there is no hardware issue such as bad bad sectors.

You can download Windows 10 from here if you were not able to create your recovery image instead of purchasing an installer.

Hope this helps answer your query.
