Yoga 900 - Cleaning Palmrest

Hi all Smiley Happy

Foolishly did not have my Yoga 900 in Stand or Tent mode as I was watching video on it and eating lunch today, and got some sauce from my sandwich on the palmrest. Wiped it off, the computer has survived - however there's a minor stain there now. Oops.

Just wondering what reccomendations there are for cleaning it? I'm tempted to use the wipes that I use on my glasses\screens that have a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on them but not sure if this will affect the rubberized coating on the palmrest. I have looked in the users manual and the HMM, but neither make any reference to cleaning the machine, an odd exclusion.

Thanks! Smiley Happy

Re: Yoga 900 - Cleaning Palmrest

Hi douglasasc10  ,

Greetings.

Here's the general guidelines that you can review:

Keeping your computer clean – Notebooks, Tablets, and All-In-One Desktops

Keeping Your ThinkPad Clean

Materials can go from faux leather to rubber and cleaning it maybe from luke warm water or 90% isoprophyl alcohol or lens cleaners with residual oil remover over a damp microfiber lint free cloth.

What I usually do is to apply it only to a small spot first with quick swipes not leaving residual solution (swipe and dry).

Hope this hellps answer your query.

Regards

Re: Yoga 900 - Cleaning Palmrest

Hi spidey,

Thanks for the reply! I started with a Chux cloth, dampened with some warm water - and it worked a charm! Ran it over the palmrest, keyboard and touchpad and it's good as new again!

I've used my glasses cleaning wipes on the screen and it's come up looking a treat too.

Thanks for your help! Smiley Very Happy
