Re: Yoga 900 OR 700 - Need a comparison

Yeah, I think it might in that case. However, Intel HD 520 is supposed to be pretty good. So, if you're willing to potentially sacrifice high frame rates and smooth viewing while CAD-ing or editing, then I think the 900 is a better package overall since it has more RAM and a larger SSD, depending on which configuration you go with of course.

I was looking for a smaller form factor so I went with the 900. I think the 900 is a bit more polished too.

If I'm reading the manuals correctly, there are no expansion slots on the 700 and the slot only supports up to 8GB. Is that right? That would be disappointing as I may want to upgrade to 16GB in the future.

Ultrabook style laptops in general have few "expansion" options - you need to buy pretty much the system configuration you intend to use over the life of the laptop....... its part of the Ultrabook design approach

Well, my current Yoga 13 can be expanded with more RAM and another SSD, and the 700 is slightly bigger.

It only has 1 Ram slot. But there are 16GB single ram sticks available, albeit rare. So yes, you can upgrade it to 16GB in the future if you want. the 700 is better overall with the better GPU in my opinion.
