Yoga 900 Screen Flicker

Has any one else noticed screen flicker on the Yoga 900? Every minute or two, the screen will turn black for a second, then turn back on. Any idea how to resolve this?

Re: Yoga 900 Screen Flicker

Hi Mirubinstein,

Welcome to the Forums

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with screen flickering in your Lenovo yoga 900 notebook.

Reinstall the display driver and check for the issue, try to move the LCD back n forth and check if there are any flickering.

Click here for the display drivers for windows 7.

Let us know the result.

Best regards,

Re: Yoga 900 Screen Flicker

Hello,

I just purchased the Yoga 900 and noticed this same issue.  I checked for an update on the display driver and there was indeed an update.  BUT......the system still acts as if there is an issue when switching between screen.  With 16GB RAM and I7 I would think that this system should have no lag at all right out of the box.

I have only updated the driver for the display in Device Manager.....should I unistall the driver and then re-install?

I'm concerned that this issue will be a long term pain.

Thanks,

Brian

Re: Yoga 900 Screen Flicker

Hi Bdunlap,

Welcome to the Forum,

Yes try uninstalling the driver and check if there are any flickering, also reinstall the latest driver and check for the issue.

Boot the system into safe mode and check if there are any flickering?if no then it could be issue with the operating system please take a data backup before reinstalling the operating system.

Let us know the result.

Best regards,

Re: Yoga 900 Screen Flicker

Ashwin,

I am also having a problem with the screen flickering when moving it, sometimes when it is not moving.  I have tried following the steps you mentioned.  I uninstalled the graphics driver and reinstalled it and booted in safe mode and the screen is still flickering.  It also flickered in safe mode.  Is this an OS problem?  Is this maybe a hardware issue?  I've only had the computer for about 10 days and it just started happening after a recent Windows update.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Yoga 900 Screen Flicker

Thanks for the help.  It was a hardware issue after all and we just had it replaced at Best Buy after Lenovo opened a case for our issue.  The process was super easy and everyone we dealt with along the way was super helpful.

Re: Yoga 900 Screen Flicker

Hello,

Same problem here - Lenovo Yoga 900 Win 10 PRO - right out of the box.

The screen will flicker to gray or black for a fraction of a second every once in a while.

Tryed reinstalling the graphics driver to the latest version, but this DID NOT solve the issue.

Another issue I have with this machie is that it has an area roughly 1 X 2 cm on the bottom center of the screen with a reduced brightness - sort of a "dark stain" on the display. This is mostly visible on light backgrounds and is very annoying.

I would expect a better QA process from Lenovo, especially when it comes to the upper end models like the 900.

Quite disappointing.
