Yoga 900 keyboard

I just got my Yoga 900 two days ago. I love it so far, everything seems to be working great and I was nervous some of the other reviews said the trackpad was bad and honesstly the only complaint I have is the small shift key... but hopefully I can train my fingeers differently.

I am posting this because of an issue I am having with the keyboard and typing. I am seeing double letterss when I am typing and Im leaving themm in the post so you can see how often it happens. I am not a heavy typer by anymeans and it happens simotanously as the letter is typed.

I have installed the BIOS and driver updates with the lenovo app and also updated my windows 10 completly. The trackpad update really fixed alot of scrolling issues and hopefully another one can fix these double letters. Itss not the hardware in the keyboard right? Hopefully not because I llove this computer.

Anyone else having these issues???

Re: Yoga 900 keyboard

Hi Amandagroup ,

Welcome to the Forums

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with keyboard in your Lenovo Yoga 900 laptop.

Click Start, Control Panel and open Keyboard Properties. Change the Repeat Delay and Repeat Rate settings to minimum..

Also try with external keyboard and check for the issues, also boot the system into safe mode and check for the issue.

Let us know the result.

Best regards,

Re: Yoga 900 keyboard

Ive messed with all the keyboard settings there are and left them for a couple days. It seemed to cut back, but it still was happening...not to mention, it is super annoying now that when I want to delete text with my backspace key it is super slow due to changing the settings. I feel like the keyboard shouldnt have to have the settings changed to fix this problem.

Ive plugged in a seperate keyboard and had the same issues.

Re: Yoga 900 keyboard

Hi Amandagroup ,

Try to uninstall the keyboard adapter from the device manager and restart the machine and check for the issue.

Also try to reinstall the operating system and check.

Let us know the result.

Best regards,

Re: Yoga 900 keyboard

I am having the same issue it happens occassionally not all the time and seemingly for random keys. I am probably going to return as I cannot tell if it is a software or hardware issue. Seems to be more than a few people having the issue but it isn't consisten. Did you every find a solution to the problem I am going to try an external keyboard tomorrow and see if it happens with that.

Re: Yoga 900 keyboard

Ok, try an external keyboard. If that works, then it may be a defective keyboard unit in your laptop.

Re: Yoga 900 keyboard

The Yoga 900 is a great machines. Perhaps you should ask for a repair or replacement with Lenovo, they may be able to help you out.

I cannot find anything on the Lenovo site to help me with requesting a replacement. If you know the number to call or have a url I can use that would be awesome thanks for any help.

Visit support.lenovo.com. After you enter in your info, there should be a call back support option. If not, call Lenovo directly at 855-253-6686
