Yoga 910-13IKB External Displays Not Working

I have been trying to get my Yoga 910 to connect to external displays for close to a year now. I have tried 3 different USB C to HDMI adapters, including the official Lenovo one. I have also recently tried a USB C to VGA adapter that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode to no avail. The external displays are always detected in the display settings but they are always listed as inactive and no video output can be sent to them. I will attach an image to show this. I have run the Lenovo Vantage tool multiple times and it claims that all hardware checks out. I also believe that all drivers are up to date. If anyone knows a solution to this problem, please let me know.

I have this adapter connected to my 910 and HDTVs from Vizio, Sony and LG. Works great. Also remember, only the forward USB-C port supports video.

Hi Mattfly,

 

Welcome to the Community Forums.

 

Make sure you have the newest BIOS, Chipset, Serial I.O and Management Engine Interface drivers for your device:

You can find and install the newest drivers from the Lenovo Support Page
Just plot in the serial number of the device, click the search icon and select your device, then head to Drivers & Software, select Manual Update, then select the BIOS and Chipset section
Right click the files in question and select "Run as Administrator".
**Note: Make sure the AC adapter is connected and that you have at least 30% battery charge when performing BIOS updates.

I downloaded and installed/reinstalled all of these to make sure they were up to date, but the problem still persists. Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Doctordon,

That "this adapter" link isn't working for me; I just get a: "[ Type error: Argument 3 passed to App\Http\Controllers\Forum\TopicsController::showForm() must be of the type integer, string given ]"... Lenovo page.

Would you mind typing out the type & model ? Thanks if you can. I guess I'm about to start looking for an adapter as well— for our Yoga 720-15IKB —which has just one Type-C port, that both the specs & User Guide states is supposedly: "compatible w/ USB 3.1 (Gen 2) & DisplayPort & Thunderbolt output". Thanks and Best to You & Yours.
