Yoga 910-13IKB SSD upgrades

Has anyone successfully upgraded the NVMe drive on a 910?

I tried a Samsung 960 EVO 500GB and did not have any luck in getting windows to detect the drive.

Is there anything I should be doing driver wise to have it detect the 960?

I'm a little confused. If you've swapped out the drive, how are you booting into Windows?

If you're trying to connect the drive externally, it won't work because SSD drive enclosures are SATA and the 960 is NVMe.  You have to put the drive in the 910, then install windows ON it or restore from an image. The BIOS should see the drive once it's in the computer.

Re: Yoga 910-13IKB SSD upgrades

I have a Yoga 910 that had a PM951 AHCI M.2 256gig drive installed from the factory, Ive upgraded mine to a Samsung 950 Pro 512 gig NVME M.2 and the drive works fine but its not reconized by any Samsung software, it says drive not detected, but other than that it runs fine, If i were you I would run Lenovo Companion and run check for updates and update the bios and then try again with your 960Evo. Also leave the bios setting on Intel cause AHCI setting will not let your Laptop boot up at all. Just make an Image of the SSD also, good luck and let me know how it goes.
