I'm still getting used to this new thing with external monitors connected via USB type C. I'm having problems finding the information, even from Lenovo. Today I tried to connect via HDMI to an external monitor, using an adapter (USBC male to HDMI female) but it did not work. I got some error message saying I was trying to use DisplayPort but that it did not work, perhaps because of the cable. Indeed it was an HDMI cable but I was hoping that would work. So does this mean I can never connect via HDMI to anything? I must always go for a DisplayPort connection?
My overall goal is to use an external 4K monitor at 60 Hz. Making any kind of connection to an external display would be a good start. Good heavens, all these adapters and connectors nowadays...

It seems like the problem disappeared when I found the right video adapter. The best is to use a cable with USB-C and DisplayPort males and connect the display directly. Any HDMI connection seems to give only 30 Hz. Thanks anyway!

For the reference purpose. USB-C to HDMI Adapter from CableMatters SKU 8115981610 works just fine on my Yoga 910 connected to 4K. Although, I do not know how to determine whether it's 30 or 60 Hz, picture is vivid and steady.

I'm not sure, it might have been startech.com, like this one https://eshop.atea.com/senew/product/startech-com-usb-c-to-displayport-adapter-cable/?prodid=1634552
