I'm based in Portugal and I've bought my Yoga 910 back in March. Despite all the well known problems with fan noise I've been able to stand it however during the last weeks my yoga has been developing a terrible grinding noise from one of the fans.
The issue seems to be mechanical, as if the fan on the right of the keyboard is hitting the back part of some of the keys ("enter", "backspace" and surrounding keys) or eventually hitting some part of the metal casing. By pressing some parts of the casing it seems to decrease the noise but it always comes back.
I've found a video on youtube that shows what is happening (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r22k4RT87pw) however in my case the problem only comes from one of the fans.
If the common fan noise can be already disturbing this one is even more annoying. Would like to know if anyone had a similar issue and the best solution to have this sorted out.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
On similar fan noise experienced in the Yoga 910, the solution suggested here helped resolve the issue.
So if you have done both BIOS update and change to quiet mode and update the wireless card driver, (as what you have hypothesized as probable hardware issue, best to call technical support.

Feedback about the situation. I've contacted Lenovo Portugal, meaning the support line that ends up in Spain, and the process lead to a pickup of the laptop for repair.
The repair was actually done by a partner company in Portugal under the warranty of the product.
This took around 2 to 3 weeks lead time and now I've the laptop back in my heads. Problem has been solved by changing the fan/termal system as I understand it. The new fan still produces a tiny similar noise but I have to do some effort to hear it. Hopefully this fan will keep in shape for the whole life of the laptop. Crossed fingers that this won't happen again.
In the end I would say the support has worked well and I had a good experience triggering the warranty from Portugal.
Thank you for the support given here as well!

Thanks for getting back to our post and having fellow members in the community informed in incidence that the BIOS and WLAN driver update failed to resolve the fan noise, then appropriate technical intervention would be a good option to proceed.
