Yoga 910 Screen brightness won't adjust other than off or full brightness

My screen brightness using FN+F11/F12 and also in the advanced power settings slider won't adjust the screen to anything other than minimum or 100% when I move the slider.  It shows the percentage moving up and down, but the screen stays 100% until I'm on the lowest setting,  then it goes right to minimum.  I received a bunch of Lenovo updates on the first Wednesday of this month and I've had several issues since then, I tried reverting back to previous drivers, but it made no difference, so I'm back on the latest drivers.

Re: Yoga 910 Screen brightness won't adjust other than off or full brightness

Hello EricDush

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

I would recommend that you see if you can revert back to the previous Windows update and see if the issue will persists or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Re: Yoga 910 Screen brightness won't adjust other than off or full brightness

I tried rolling back, it made no difference. I've had a slew of issues since the last driver and windows update about a month ago. In addition to the screen brightness issue, my USB Type-C charger won't work properly anymore. I've tried 3 chargers. I'm not sure how a Windows update could affect charging though as even with the laptop turned off, it won't detect my charger randomly. The charge issue has pretty much rendered this laptop worthless as I never know when I turn it on if if I will have a dead battery or any power available to use it.

Also, I have discovered that if I put the laptop in "High Performance" profile in Windows versus the "Balanced" mode, that the screen LCD brightness controls work again. NO idea why that would have any affect on them.  Going back to "Balanced" renders them unusable again.

This TRICK solved brightness issue on my Yoga 2 Pro.
Maybe works with your 910 too.

Unfortunately, those drivers are specific to the Yoga 2 Pro. I have tried the manufacturer drivers for the VGA card and for the WLAN, but it didn't make any difference. I already have the 3 Lenovo apps mentioned in that thread installed.

I'm refering just the 'Lenovo Settings' "trick", not the Y2P's drivers and setup.

That did work, however, just as a note for anyone else, I had to do this "trick" for each profile I have... "Balanced", "Power Saver" and "High Performace" in order to get the screen brightness to adjust again.  Very weird.
