I recently purchased a Lenovo Yoga 910 for some school/ database work. My plan was to, at my home office, have the laptop plugged into my TV via USB Type-C and HDMI cord. I cannot remember exactly what had happened when I first connected the HDMI cord, but I do remember that the laptop could not pick up my TV's signal, and I had accidentally set my laptop to display what was on the second devices screen(TV which was not detected). Now, whenever I plug the USB-C/HDMI cord from my laptop to the TV, my screen is black and I cannot reverse the mistake I had made.
Does anyone know a method to fix this without reseting my laptop?

I tried doing a system restore, but it said "No restore points have been created on your computer's system drive".
I enabled system protection after reading that, but it's a little too late for this particular scenario.

Hi MattLibo ,
Similar to this discussion:
1. Press the Windows key+P or the button and choose PC Screen Only
2. If there's an image on the background but the screen is dark, press the button to turn ON/OFF the LCD backlight.
3. Unplug the HDMI cable from the PC and check if the display goes back to the laptop screen.
4. Press the power button once to put the computer to sleep (power button will blink) then press the power button again to wake the machine and see if you get the screen on the
Update us how it goes.

My Yoga 910 is new and I am having the same problem. I have tried it with a couple of different TV's and each time the screen goes black (flickering slightly) it's not a display mode issue.
If I use the power port the screen does not go black, the TV is detected, but there is an error message that the cable may be at fault. The cable is also brand new so I don't know what that means since it is the only kind of cable it could be USB-C to HDMI.
I have been searching for several days for an answer to this problem. I am a trainer and need to be able to plug in to any TV/Monitor/Projector I am provided with by a client or venue. So this is a big problem for me.

Hi spidey 101,
Thanks! I can now see my laptops screen when the HDMI is plugged in, but my laptop won't detect any additional displays. I've tried multiple tv's and none of their signals are being detected - same problem as maddioz. Should I create a new thread for this problem?

I would suggest that you try to review this discussion with fellow community members enlisting cables that they have tested working for the yoga 910.
The discussion is a bit lengthy but informative as to what specific cable adapter that works for them.
With updated BIOS, chipset and drivers, we might need to check on cable compatibility.
