Yoga 910 Shipping Issue

I recently purchased a yoga 910 dark grey (07/2017) and to my surprise the shipping date is late December 2017 (18-20).

 

Did anyone else see a huge 4 month gap between purchase and shipment. Personally that is too long of a delay, even though accessories as stated to ship in a couple days. 

 

Should I cancel? Or can customer service rush an order?

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

This can different in every country and supplier, it may well be that the unit is yet to be in stock.

I would suggest the best option would be getting in touch with your retailer that you are trying to order from, and confirm the delay with the order.

Hi YogaAgoy,

 

During the sale this month I also purchased a dark grey Yoga 910 directly through Lenovo's site. When checking out it said usually ships in 1 to 3 days but on my status order it says it will ship on December 18th. Hopefully it's just a mistake but in all likelihood they oversold and won't be able to get them in for a while. It's currently afterhours so I cannot call but I'll let you know if I hear anything from them or if my order status changes.

I called a few days ago and got the run around. They told me it shouldnt be that long and it will update. Never did. Called a again and they told me that the best I could do was wait til the beginning of the week for a new updated estimate.

When I asked if it would be a two week or more wait, I got no answer. So after reading about the companies issues with delayed shipping from many posts, I cancelled.

I came again to check today, and the version of the laptop I ordered isnt even sold on the website anymore.

I think they just have a huge back order since it seems that this is the average experience when buying through them. Sucks.

I did read that the new Yoga 920 is gonna come out. September it should be revealed at IFA Berlin. So if you wanna wait for better specs it might be worth it, since you might end up getting your laptop during December :/

Sorry to hear your experience with their customer service wasn't too great. When I was purchasing mine, after I added it to my cart it said the product was out of stock on the product page, suggesting that I purchased the last one. Most likely they had more listed on the product page than what they actually had in stock. 

 

Thanks for the headsup about the 920. I need a new laptop for school and would like to have one no later than August, so I'll probably pass on the 920. Plus between the sale and the student discount I managed to save about $320. However, if the December date is somewhat accurate then I'll probably cancel my order like you.

Actually their customer service were very nice. I know they are just doing a job and have no control over shipping/manufacturing. It just sucked that they too seemed unable to do anything about it because they themselves couldn't get a straight answer it seems.

I do hope you get your laptop before the December date. I didn't need a laptop, just wanted an upgrade so Im on less of a time crunch than you seem to be.

Please do let me know what ends up happening.
