Yoga 910 touch screen dragging instead of tapping

Hi,

I have a problem with touch screen support of my Yoga 910 on Linux. It's loosing release finger event.

I've reported it on kernel issue tracker: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195625 and I've got reply that it is caused by touch screen firmware. I've also wrote an e-mail on mailing list: https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-input/msg51249.html .

Kernel support team claim that without firmware update, touch screen can't work correctly. Can Lenovo you prepare such a firmware fix or support kernel's team how to handle such a situation?

Re: Yoga 910 touch screen dragging instead of tapping

Hello Ark_adius

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Not exactly sure how the kernel update works, but just in case, if not already, try to download the Video and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit. See if these can be of any help at all.

Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.

(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

I can't find any Linux Video and Chipset drivers for this unit on the support page. Can you provide an exact link to it?

If you head over to the support page, enter your serial number and navigate to the "Drivers & Software" tab, choose the component, find the right ones, these should be compatible with Linux as well as Win I believe.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
