Yoga 920 Battery

2018-01-05, 6:42 AM

When I shut down my Lenovo Yoga 920 Laptop, and leave it off for a few weeks, when I power on again, my battery is totally drained.   Even though I charge it to 100% before shutting down.

Is this normal?

I feel that if you shut down, or power down your laptop, the battery should retain its charge.  Is this an incorrect assumption?

Is there any way to set it so that the battery doesn't drain down completely if the computer is not used for a few weeks, and is shut off?

Hi BobbyKmd,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

With newer Windows versions, there are features that still tries to maintain other kept resources active using the battery so that recovering the data and boot process would be faster the next time you start it.

You can try disable fast start under power options> system settings to change settings that is currently unavailable and uncheck the box for fast start up similar to this discussion. Another fellow member have a different solution that worked for him here.

Hope this helps answer your query.

A battery draining over a few weeks is normal.
My Yoga 920 empties it's battery over the weekend, and when I contact Lenovo they say that it's normal..

Lenovo think it is normal, but it isn't normal.

I have different laptops for example Surface Pro 3, Surface Book 2, Dell XPS 13 and Huawei Matebook x Pro.

The Lenovo is the only one which has such problems.
