Yoga 920 No screen auto rotate and keyboard problem

2018-02-17, 0:46 AM

The moment I got this laptop, I was having palm rejection issue when I wrote in Microsoft One Note (I use it for school). I just dealt with it. Then it crashed one day and give me "inaccessible_boot_device" error.

I was able to restore it to previous point through Windows 10 recovery. But then after the 3rd time of doing that, the restore point was not there anymore. Then I left the computer to run "automatic repair" at the Lenovo boot screen. That failed.

So, I installed my own windows 10 version 1607 (I wiped the Lenovo recovery portion of the drive).

Now the screen would not auto rotate in tablet mode and the keyboard and touchpad will not work once I go from tablet mode to laptop mode. I have to restart the computer for the keyboard and touchpad to work again.

Lenovo tech suport spent 2 hours installing and uninstall updates and drivers. It still did not work. They said it was Microsoft's problem. Lenovo tech support gave up and told me to contact Microsoft.

I has been trying to access Lenovo USB Recovery Center for the past month, but it has been down. I believe that maybe if I could put this laptop back to manufacturer default state, it may fix it. Any ideas if this could work?

Any other ideas for me to try?

There's a reason why Lenovo ships the system pre-loaded OS because of the some modding. At this point, for keyboard, I could suggest to check if there's any bios update. For auto rotate, you may need to download and install additional Lenovo softwares as well. You can find those at the download page if you didn't create the backup for "drivers" folder

I have updated all drivers and BIOS to most current version. Still the same problem.

Is there anyway to get the factory Windows OS image with all the drivers built into it without going through Lenovo Recovery center?  Lenovo Recovery center is still down.

Thanks for your help.

I have tried your link with using Lenovo Service Bridge update to find missing drivers. There are no missing drivers.  Lenovo Advantage has no new drivers to update. Windows update also has no new drivers to update.
