Yoga 920 Thinks its Plugged in even when Unplugged

2019-03-13, 2:18 AM

Hi,

I have a Yoga 920.  It thinks its "plugged in, charging" even when uplugged.  when i plug it in it does not charge.  it does charge when the battery has totally drained of power.

Please help!

Thanks,

Marc

1) Check the Lenovo Vantage app. It will tell you battery condition. It also allows what is called a "threshold". If the battery reaches this threshold (i.e. 75%), the battery will stop charging and display "plugged in and not charging".

2) If that didn't pan out, turn off the laptop, unplug the charge cable, and remove the battery for a bit. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then put the battery back and charge cable back in. If this still doesn't resolve it, look toward either a new battery or charger.

While you're at it, use Vantage to update everything, including and especially the BIOS.

If everything's up to date, you can try removing and reinstalling the battery driver: https://windowsreport.com/laptop-battery-not-charging-windows-10/ "Solution 2"
