I am experiencing the same issues with my Yoga 920 and Dell TB16. I am looking at getting a new docking station. Did you by chance ever find a docking station that pairs smoothly with the Yoga 920? Thanks

Not a docking station but a Lenovo usb-c travel hubf $47 on Amazon. Plugs into TB port and has ports for HDMI, USB and other connections. Been using it 2 days and so far it works. Not using the Thinkpad doc any more and have been told by all tech support that there are no compatible docking station for Yoga 920.

The 920 will only work with a thunderbolt dock if the dock will default to a USB 3 type C connection. The Yoga 920 has no thunderbolt chip or software installed despite the marketing claims and labels on the port.
Many thunderbolt docks with the latest intel chip will work with a Yoga 920 but only in USB 3 mode. Earlier thunderbolt dock chips did not default to USB 3 when connected to a USB 3 computer like the Yoga 920

The Yoga 920 does not have a thunderbolt 3 chip installed. However more modern thunderbolt 3 devices like you reference using the latest thunderbolt 3 chips will default to USB 3 if connected to a non thunderbolt 3 computer with a USB compact physical connection like the Yoga 920 so you may think you have a thunderbolt 3 connection but you dont !!

I have found that my YOGA 920 13ikb glass does have a Thunderbolt 3 chip inside. It is an Alpine Ridge Chip and I have the TB3 Dock working great with it. The dock does show up as a thunderbolt 3 device. I'll post a picture of a screenshot of HWiNFO 64 running (I really hope there isn't too much info here, if you see something that leaves me vulnerable please tell me). Thank you

I forgot the picture of the TB3 software showing up with the dock. I have used it to transfer files to my PC with a Titan Ridge card at the 20 gb/s I believe. I haven't been able to get 40 but I believe it is because of the cord I was using (tried to save a couple bucks and only about one rated for 20). I haven't had time to really test it, but I will once I get a new cable.
