My laptop is a brand new (I've only had it for 1 month) and I left it unplugged for a 2 weeks business trip. I've come home now to find the laptop is not turning on or making any sounds. I know for a fact it hasn't been dropped or anything of the sort since no one was at the house for those 2 weeks and we have no pets that can mess around with it. Any ideas what it can be?

Welcome to the Community Forums.
I would suggest that you call in technical support and inform them of the issue.
Isolating the points of failure maybe the ac charger/cable , dc in port , power board/ motherboard etc. which can be checked with the power system checkout here in the hardware manual page 21.
Since the machine is under warranty, you may not need to remove the battery or even open the laptop specially if you know that the ac charger works fine and there is no issue with your surge protectors or power outlets.
Update us how things go.

I took it to where I bought it and they replaced the computer for me. Unknown what the problem was entirely, the power adapter was working correctly.
Now on the new computer I'm unable to print despite having added both my printers to it correctly. It is very frustrating.

These modern laptops tend to drain the battery when shut off for a couple of weeks. Simply plug in the charger and it should start up. When completely dead it may also take awhile for it to charge to 1% but it should steadily charge up after that. Be patient.
