Got a new Yoga C630 WOS and I can't seem to get a usb to serial adapter to work.
I have tried multiple devices with different chipsets and none will work.
All devices tested work great on my Preciion 5510 running 1809 Windows 10 Pro.
This Yoga is also running 1809 Windows 10 Pro.

darn it! I just got a c630 wos too. A great laptop. I'm a systems admin and need usb to serial too. I tried the TrendNET one that has always worked for me.. it shows up in Device Manager as Serial Device D or something like that. hmmmm..... and since we appear to be the only 2 people who care about usb to serial on the windows ARM platform it could be a long time before we see drivers for this device.
have you had any luck?

Well I guess that was the least of my worries.
A month into it the right hand usb port stopped working.
4 support reps and their solutions did nothing to correct.
Sent back for repairs.
Was told my month old laptop would take 3 or 4 more weeks to fix as there are no spare parts. This was going to be a 6 week turnaround.
Finally got them to issue a replacement.
Got the news that that is also at least 4 weeks out.
Not a happy camper and hope you have better luck.

Video adapters like a USB to serial dongle will require a driver that is compatible with Win 10 and ARM. These drivers are made by the adapter manufacturer and can often be found on their website. Since Windows on ARM/Snapdragon is a relatively new platform, not a lot of accessories requiring additional drivers have a compatible driver (unfortunately). You can try reaching out to the company who made the dongle to ask if they are able to provide a Win10/ARM driver. I wish I had a better answer for you at this time.
Thank you for the feedback and highlighting this issue. We will definitely be reviewing this to see how we can help drive improvement in accessory compatibility for the WoS devices offered by Lenovo.
