Yoga C930: Fits double-sided NVMe SSDs?

2019-11-26, 14:34 PM

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to upgrade my C930 SSD with the ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 512 GB, which is a double sided drive. I've read forums posts of X1 Carbon users unable to fit double-sided drives into their laptops, wasting their SSD purchases.

Does anyone have first-hand experience with upgrading the Yoga C930 with a double-sided drive?

Thank you!

Hi ,

Looking at the Parts LookUp, all compatible SSDs are single sided. Single sided M.2 2280 SSD are 2.3 mm thick and double side is around 3.3 mm thick. You can install a double sided SSD however we cannot guarantee that it will sit flat and will not be bulky.

Alternatively, you might want to take the laptop to a local store to pull the SSD and check if a double thickness one will fit before purchasing. But we still recommend the compatible SSD listed on our Parts LookUp.
