Yoga C930 battery won't charge

2020-05-26, 19:10 PM

My battery in my Yoga c930 won't charge since a while back. It's stuck on 0%.

When plugged in the laptop runs, but the processor is underclocking. The CPU is stuck är 0.4Ghz, and the computer is really sluggish.

I've disconnected the battery and then it runs just like normal when plugged in.

Is it the battery that needs replacement? Kinda odd that the battery should give up after just 14 months.

Anyway, I've watched the battery removal video on the lenovo site. Four screws, and then just remove. In my machine tho, it seems like the battery is glued. It sits like a rock in the middle of the battery. If i try to pull any harder I'm afraid i might break the battery in two. Anyone encountered the same, or any ideas how to remove it?

You could check with the battery plugged in to see how many cycles you have with it. If you see an excessive amount then yeah it might be the battery simply died from enough cycles. But if you can post it here for reference.

I recently replaced my battery in my Yoga c930. I agree that the videos do not include that you have to remove a strip of adhesive underneath.

I found that there are two black strips of the ends of the adhesive that wrap up onto the top of each end of the battery. If you peel that off and pull off the adhesive (it will stretch like removing a Command strip or something) then the battery should lift right out like in the video. Hope this helps if you do need to replace the battery.
