Re:Yoga C940 14 wifi keeps randomly dropping.

I've been having this issue for ages, found a post some where to turn off the 802.11n/ac/ax wireless mode and so far not had a drop out

The fix that I read that works for me so far :-

- Device Manager

- Network and Adapters

- Right click the WIFI adapter

- Properties

- Advanced

- Disable 802.11n/ac/ax Wireless mode

hope it helps 😊

The following has allowed me to change power setting on the WIFI adapter which has currently resolved WIFI network drops

Is this still a problem?

And if so, has anyone tried logging into their router and setting up a dedicated IP channel for their computer or other devices? I'm curious to know if this is happening due to a high number of smart devices connecting to the router...which would be ironic given that's what AX wireless is supposed to be good at. Could it be a traffic problem?

I don't have a c940 (I'm in the market and was doing research when i stumbled on this problem and was curious to see if it was resolved) BUT I did have the very same problem with a Lenovo ThinkPad T480s when I brought it home to work from here after COVID hit in March. My wireless connection became a hot pile of garbage, just like users here are describing.

The laptop would lose connection CONSTANTLY, especially when I was in something load-heavy like a VOIP call with screen sharing. It would kick other devices off the network too, and was so bad that even my router would turn off completely and then reboot. I did driver updates, calls to our techs, the works.  I even replaced my router twice trying to solve the problem.

One day I was pulling my hair out about all of my smart bulbs and google homes being kicked off network too, and it occurred to me that maybe my laptop was conflicting with the things around it on my dynamic IP wireless network. As soon as I logged into my modem/router and used the DHCP Reservation function to set some IP channels aside for my computer, and for some of my other devices to reduce traffic on the dynamic IP highway, the wireless stopped dropping.

Anyway TL;DR - would love to know if DHCP Reservation works for anyone while Lenovo tries to figure this out.

I was having this issue, and i found in the driver, if you click on properties of the wireless adapter > configure > Power management, then you need to make sure that the computer can't turn this off during power saving mode. This fixed the issue for me, once I unselected the box.

Yoga C940 14 wifi keeps randomly dropping, Cant connect Bluetooth headphone

2020-10-20, 0:34 AM

I had been living with this problem with Yoga C940 for a while. Wifi keeps dropping, and I kept trouble shooting it thinking it must be the routers fault.

And now the blue tooth headphones dont get connected.

I called up the service center, but they either disconnect the call or keep me waiting on endless wait just to be told in the end that someone will call me back.

The service is horrible and I would NOT suggest anyone to purchase this laptop nor deal with Lenovo.

Was this ever resolved for you? Did anything work? I tried to respond on my yoga, but the internet dropped, no kidding. This happen 9-12 times a day making the device virtually unusable. I have tried all the youtube videos, everything short of taking it to geek squad where I know it will sit for weeks, maybe months just to find out this is across the board a faulting product? Help!

I continue having similar issues and it happens literally 9-12 times a day. No other device drops wifi. I have watched all the youtube videos trying anything before sending it off to geeksquad for weeks, possibly months just to learn it is a flaw with this computer Lenovo continues to sell. I am starting to feel like this was a horrible investment. Has anyone actually resolved this entirely?

I don't have a set in stone answer, but some combination of the many potential solutions posted out there has seemed to greatly reduce the dropping.

I used Intels Driver and Support Assistant to get all the latest drivers, as well as adjusting the MIMO Power Save Mode in the properties of the Wifi adapter.

There were other actions I took but those are the only ones I can remember right now. I still get the occasional drop here and there, but not anywhere near the 10-15 daily drops I was getting before. Other than that the laptop has been pretty decent. Is your device still under warranty?

Yoga C940 15. Lenovo replaced my motherboard and this fixed the WiFi loss issue. This was about 3 months ago and the drops have stopped. May be worth a try if it's still under warranty.
