Yoga: Has anyone installed the Windows Updates from Tuesday

If so, any issues?

Re: Yoga: Has anyone installed the Windows Updates from Tuesday

Yep. I definitely had issues. I got a "failure to install updates" and some message about having to revert. Ugh. Somehow I eventually got it to install...I'm not even sure what I did. I know I tried manually installing all the Windows 8 updates released in November, and then I tried both the Windows Update application accessible from the Control Panel in the Desktop environment and the Windows Update available in the Metro environment.

If I had to guess it was the fact that I manually installed as many updates as I could, and then used the Update Windows functionality in the Metro (or whatever) interface. Good luck. It was irritating. And now I'm battling trackpad issues. Ugh.

yup no go on updates today. Getting same behavior as I had trying to install pro pack upgrade. Freezes at 15%.

Going to try to disable the Lenovo bloatware services again and give it a shot.

Re: Yoga: Has anyone installed the Windows Updates from Tuesday

Hi guys,

please be a little more specific, what exactly didn´t install. And if you are running a factory installation or a clean install and what OS you use.

Then its easier for all to understand, what´s the issue really is.

Thanks in advance

Best
Andreas

Re: Yoga: Has anyone installed the Windows Updates from Tuesday

I had no issues with the install.  I left automatic updates on and just got a reminder to restart my computer.  I did pucker a bit when I saw the reminder.  I had read of some problems with windows updates.  I also got a set of updates when I first fired it up last Wednesday and had no issues.

Bios version 66CN48W

Factory install

partitions intact

Re: Yoga: Has anyone installed the Windows Updates from Tuesday

had to do it again to get the win 8 patches to install again. All you need to do is disable the Nalperion LIcensing Service. This is what is conflicting with the pro pack upgrade and patch install.

From what I can determine, the software that uses this service is Nitro Pro PDF maker.

hope this helps people

Re: Yoga: Has anyone installed the Windows Updates from Tuesday

I had the same problems. Stalled at 15% and reverted back.  So I went through the control panel update and installed them individually.  The problematic update is KB2770917.  When trying to install that one by itself it stopped at 15% and reverted.  Every other update worked.  Will be looking into it.

Look like it's a common problem.  See here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_update/windows-8-update-failing-o...

Hello mkallerud,

To uncheck KB2770917 did the trick.

Thank you for the hint.

Re: Yoga: Has anyone installed the Windows Updates from Tuesday

It looks like there may be a solution for the KB2770917 update problem.

I will have to try it when I get home from work.  Let me know if anyone can confirm this.
