Re: Yoga Pro 3 - Wifi dropped connections; refuses to reconnect

2015-09-15, 7:55 AM

Ok guys. I know it is a little late but i have now solved the problem completely!

I got my LY3Pro a few days ago and i got the exact same problem...

To solve the problem you have to do the following:

Head to the searchbar (in the left corner of the screen... NOT google :p) and search for device manager --> click the subject (it will bring up a box with a list of devices) --> look for a device named network card (or something like that - im sorry if the translation is not 100 % correct) --> press it and it will let you get acces to a string called "broadcom 802.11ac network adapter" --> double click on  it and it will open up a window --> at the top of the window you will see a folder/fane (sorry bad english) whith the label advanced on it --> now you will see a lot of settings... you have to look for a setting called "IBBS mode" (or omething like that) --> there will be four options now: one called automatic 802.11a/b/g, automatic 802.11a/b/g/n, only 802.11a/b and the last one performance 802.11a/b/g... you have to chose the one called performance 802.11a/b/g ---> hit ok and the network problem is solved...

Sorry for bad english... some of the translations might not be 100 % correct

Re: Yoga Pro 3 - Wifi dropped connections; refuses to reconnect

i asked at best buy and they told me that the fix that was suggested here would open to vulnerability

then Lenovo remotely logged to my pc did something and did not solve the problem

now all they can offer is restet to factory which as i read here did not help somebody else

.... AND BLAME IT ON WIN 10

I mean obviously this is a large problem and that's all they can offer?

That worked! You are a genius. I hope that's a permanent fix. I sent my first YP3 Win 8.1 to Canopy/Asurion Warranty (external insurance/warranty service) and they couldn't fix this problem for over a month and gave me a full refund. I thought that laptop was a lemon. I bought a new one just like that except it has Win 10. Didn't have the problem last night, but this morning it wouldn't connect. Glad I found this forum and your comment. Thanks a lot!!

I wonder what exactly Best Buy means by "the fix that was suggested here would open to vulnerability".

Are there then other settings that may be tweaked to counterbalance it?

I took the bottom pannel off of mine and the black wire going into the wifi card wasn't pluged in... The problem is now fixed

So this is one year old and nobody from support has offered a solution in all that time?

I have been having this same issue for a year since my purchase. Already sent back once. I tried the fix by going to device manager and the problem I have is I don't have an IBBS mode (or anything close to that). Any suggestions???
