I upgraded to Windows 10 and ever since then my laptop battery is not charging. I am a computer illiterate and travelling at the moment so can not even seek my IT departments help. The problem is that the battery shows 1% charge and when connected it to AC the laptop works well - as soon as I disconnected, it goes into hibernate. The symbol for AC connection does show so the laptop is detecting the charger.
Along with this I keep on getting a battery calibration suggestion and says that I have not calibrated my battery in a long long time - although I do it every time it shows up. So I dont know what that is. Before the Windows 10 upgrade, my laptop on a 100% charge was giving me up to 6 hours of usage so I doubt there's anything wrong with the battery physically.
Would appreciate an experts advice on this. Please speak to me as you would to a 4 year old as like I said I'm completely computer illiterate!
Thanks & Regards

Thanks! Well - I already did that - I did follow up on comments so the IDTF is installed (whatever it may mean or do). The problem remains. My laptop does not charge beyond 1% battery, works on AC only and shows the laptop plugged in. Is there anything specific for this problem?

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Twist and have the same issues. I have twice now been given a critical battery low error after my laptop has been plugged in. Sometimes it will charge, and more and more lately it no longer will. Is there a driver or fix for the ThinkPad Twist?

Same thing happens on my Thinkpad x200 tablet. Not charging for most of time on windows 10. Should there be a driver update to fix this?

I was having a similar problem today with a regular Yoga 3, and found out there was a setting in the "Lenovo Settings" app from the Windows store. It would only charge to 50-60% to preserve battery life.
If you don't want to get it from the app store or the laptop is not on a network, you can download a package from Lenovo and install it manually, as described here
