Yoga S730 Bios update (Fixed)

2019-12-09, 6:51 AM

I have just updated the BIOS of my Yoga S730 as suggested when I logged in.
I have a Lenovo USB-C to HDMI cable which is connected to an external screen. After the update the screen no longer works and WIn 10 is not recognising that there is an external device connected.

Any suggestions?

After fiddling around including a few reboots it is working again.

I repeatedly rebooted the computer and then went into the Windows Display settings to search for additional displays. I alterntely booted with the screen connected and not connected and then plugging the USB-C once booted. On the third attempt the 2nd display was recognised.

To be honest I think the remedy will be to turn the computer off after the bios update, reboot and wait a few minutes to let Windows sort itself out.
