4 year old machine, had problem with wireless adapter, ordered one up that problem solved but it wouldnt power up so i bought a new battery. Perfect. It booted up fast to desktop but i noticed it was not charging, plugged in so tried another a/c adapter and then another. Research said to hold power button for 20 seconds etc, then unplug battery and boot up still nothing. I removed the MCI Microsft under Batterys in Device Mgr. That didnt help.
Any ideas greatly appreciated

Where have you purchased this battery? Many batteries that are not original can get swollen and be dangerous. Also the reason why some suggest to hold the power button for 20 seconds and remove the battery is to remove any static electricity from the laptop and to "callibrate" the battery.
