Yoga pro 2 wifi adaptor not available in device manager

Hi,

I think I have a hardware problem with my wifi adaptor and can I have a way to fix it? my warranty has expired.

========

I have a yoga pro 2 for less than 2 years I think.

Yesterday, the wifi adaptor suddenly disapper, i cannot connect to internet and the wifi device is not available in the device manager any more. I try to reset the PC and also update to the latest interl wireless wlan software from lenovo website.

It doesn't help at all. The win10 also report ethernet 2 not connected.

Re: Yoga pro 2 wifi adaptor not available in device manager

Hi monglebest ,

Greetings.

When did the wifi issue started and how long wdid it work with Windows 10 ?

Try to show hidden devices on device manager , any yellow mark or black down arrow?

Would jumping back to previous restore point work with system restore

Try shutting down the pc and turn on using the novo key to access the BIOS.

Load default settings F9 , save and exit F10 and restart

By the way please edit the serial number to keep it confidential , we would just be using the machine number 59428041 for your LenovoYoga2Pro13 for reference .

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Yoga pro 2 wifi adaptor not available in device manager

Hi monglebest ,

Greetings.

Good that its working ,

It may be that windows is trying to verify certified devices that may have temporarily gone out after an update.

As soon as it refresh detection , most digitally certified device would get synchonized with the operating system.

Let us give it some time like a week , if issue happens every month similar to patch automatic updates of WIndows.

We won't be limiting the fact that it may also be loose pin on the wireless card itself or on the card.

Update us as it goes.

Regards

Re: Yoga pro 2 wifi adaptor not available in device manager

Hi, Spidey:

I shows the hidden devices under Device Manager. It gives me this information below:

Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

I boutght a usb wifi adaptor as a temporary solution.

Re: Yoga pro 2 wifi adaptor not available in device manager

Hi monglebest ,

Greetings.

There is a great probability that the WLAN card itself may be bad or loose from its location.

If there is another laptop we can test it or try to reseat ( remove and place back in ) the WLAN card (page 43).

As the error code implies (error 45) was previously recognized and have gotten loose or undetected as a functional device. For the part number of the WLAN card , you may check it from here

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Yoga pro 2 wifi adaptor not available in device manager

Hi, spidey101:

I have T5 screw driver and try to open the back panel to check. Is there any special treament to the middle screw above (or below) the battery. I can easily remove the 10 screws around the boundary but the central screw doesn't roll out.

Re: Yoga pro 2 wifi adaptor not available in device manager

HI Gaofeng ,

Checking on similar disassembly videos here and here as shown using the same screw driver would allow removal of the central screw .

Hoping it is not frayed screw here , take time to check further.

Re: Yoga pro 2 wifi adaptor not available in device manager

Hi,

Sorry for coming back to reply at this time. It's not a frayed screw but actually the female structure or nuts that is frayed.

I have used a usb wifi adaptor for two years. Is there any solution for a frayed screw or nuts?

Regards
